Bird in the Hand: a virtual nature journaling experience at the Palomarin Field Station with Point Blue Conservation Science
Thursday, April 8, 2021, 12:00-1:30 PM (PDT)
Join Naturalist Artist Educator John Muir Laws on a virtual visit to our Palomarin Field Station, where Point Blue scientists have been banding birds and advancing conservation for more than 55 years. Explore drawing techniques, from fast sketching to vivid detail, to observe and appreciate the natural world around us. Get out “in the field” with Point Blue Avian Ecologist Renée Cormier to see how birds are captured, banded, measured, and released. Learn how long-term data sets inform conservation strategies. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Bring pencil, paper, and a sense of humor.
