Discover the Joy of Nature Journaling

April 4 @ 12:00 pm 1:30 pm PDT

Nature journaling is a centuries-old practice of collecting and organizing observations, questions, connections, and explanations on the pages of a notebook. A nature journal is a lens that focuses our attention, crystalizes our observations, thoughts, and experiences, and allows us to experience nature – and ourselves – in a new, creative way. And research has found that spending time in nature can relieve stress and anxiety, improve your mood, and boost feelings of happiness and well-being.

In this online class, you will learn the basic skills and mindset you need to start your own nature journal. With an experienced naturalist as your guide, you will explore the steps of this dynamic and creative process while gaining the skills and confidence to continue this practice on your own. You do not need to be an artist or a naturalist to begin. These skills can be learned by anyone, and you can develop them with deliberate practice. The system is creative, rigorous, and playful, easy to begin and learn, and will grow and mature over a lifetime, providing a source of enrichment and deep satisfaction for many years.

Bring your unlined notebook or journal and a pencil to class.
