Drawing Birds: Suggesting Detail without getting lost in the feathers…

October 14, 2015 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm PDT

|Recurring Event (See all)

Bee Eaters[L]earn how to simplify the details of bird plumage to increase your drawing speed, accuracy, and to make your sketches more lifelike. In this workshop you will learn the basics of bird feather anatomy and how to suggest the complexity with a minimum of fuss and hassle. The principles of simplification also apply to drawing many other subjects and can be broadly applied.

The trick is to understand more than you can see and to draw less than you know.

This class topic was selected to help Cole who left a comment on the site inquiring about these techniques. If you have a special request, contact me and I may be able to develop a workshop that targets your specific needs, interests, or problem areas.

Appropriate for all skill levels. No advanced registration required. $20 suggested donation.
