Nature Journaling for Ecological Re-STORY-ation

October 25 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm PDT

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 1:00 pm on Monday, repeating until November 1, 2021

A new course inspired by the quote from Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Kimmerer:

“It’s not just the land that is broken, but more importantly, our relationship to land…we can’t meaningfully proceed with healing, with restoration, without “re-story-ation.” In other words, our relationship with land cannot heal until we hear its stories. But who will tell them?”

This course will be limited to a small group. Registration opens on 9/30.

Click here for course details, and learn a nature journal activity you can do today to take the first step to “re-STORY-ation”.

Mondays at from 4 – 5:30pm Eastern (1-2:30pm Pacific), October 4 to November 8.

Meet your Teacher

Hi, I’m Rebecca Rolnick! I’ll be your mentor and guide on this journey of reconnection and belonging.  I’m a naturalist, writer, and environmental educator. I live in upstate New York and hold a B.S. in Conservation Biology with a minor in Environmental Writing and Rhetoric from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. As a National Geographic Certified Educator, I am passionate about helping students develop a sense of curiosity and wonder, critical thinking skills, and environmental literacy through place-based learning. I teach the free “Writing Workshop Wednesdays” featured on John Muir Laws’ Nature Journal Club Community Calendar, and I worked as the Logistics Associate for the 2021 Wild Wonder Nature Journal Teachers Conference.
