Nature Journaling: SF North Bay Teacher Workshop (part 2)

October 15, 2011 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Awaken a love for the environment through the creation of a nature journal
Are your students uninterested in the outside world? Do they know little of the flora and fauna that inhabit their backyard? If so, get them excited about nature by having them create their own journal!

With our workshop you will gain the skills and confidence to incorporate nature journaling in your classroom. Learn from naturalist, artist, and author John Muir (Jack) Laws (California Academy of Sciences) how to best observe the natural world and record your observations in your own nature journal. Discover language arts exercises and English language development standards that will help connect your journal to California content standards. By completing this workshop, you will have a journaling tool for your curriculum that will finally get your students to slow down in this technological age and appreciate the natural world.
