Poetry and Science Workshop – Desert Laboratory on Tumamoc Hill

July 10 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm PDT

$45

Posted by Roseann Hanson, art and science program coordinator at the Desert Laboratory on Tumamoc Hill, part of the University of Arizona:

I’m super excited about our first Summer Monsoon Series: Desert Senses Awake, a four-part series that runs from July 10 through August 14. The first program will be of interest to nature journalers.

Are you interested in poetry? Did you enjoy Emilie Lygren‘s amazing class at Wild Wonder? This workshop will help build your poetry skills with poet Logan Phillips teaching us the art of the ode . . . while we concurrently learn about the ecology of desert toads, which are literally entombed in the earth right now awaiting the desert monsoons when they emerge and sing their hearts out in ephemeral pools!

Note the time is 10 am Pacific / 11 am Mountain. It’s online via Zoom and if you’re in Arizona, consider the optional field trip to go find toads one evening!

Kids under 18 are free and students 50% discount! Email Roseann for details roseannhanson at arizona dot edu.
