Sketching for Birders

January 10, 2022 @ 6:00 pm 7:30 pm PST

Learn how to draw birds in the field to help you observe more carefully and remember the details more accurately. You do not need to be an artist to enhance your field notes with quick drawings that portray the field marks that you see. These notes can help you learn to identify birds and report rare or unusual sightings. Bird sketches also enhance a nature journal, and can include notes on behavior, habitat use, or interactions with other species. This event is sponsored by the Mesilla Valley Audubon Society.

Thank you for the session, today. It was wonderful! And I really enjoyed it. It will help us tremendously! We are just beginning to organize a Nature Journal Club in El Salvador with activities carried out through our Natural History National Museum (Museo de Historia Natural de El Salvador —MUHNES), and I hope we could get people motivated and enthusiastic about this pretty soon. Thank you, again!

thank you so much, let me know how I can help you get the program started. Would a special online class help you get off the ground? Let me know. Be well, Jack
