SUMMARY:Nature Journaling and Nonviolent Communication
DESCRIPTION:Join a conversation with Rebecca Rolnick to explore how can our nature journaling teaching practice be informed by non-violent communication?\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAbout Rebecca\n\n\n\nRebecca Rolnick is from the forests\, lakes\, and hills around Syracuse NY\, which she acknowledges are the ancestral unceded lands of Onondaga Nation. As a nature journal teacher and nature connection mentor\, she is on a path of relearning how to live in reciprocal relationship with our “more-than-human” kin. Queer\, neurodivergent\, and chronically ill\, she is passionate about creating nature connection experiences that help all people feel a sense of belonging and interconnection with the web of life\, where each person can be celebrated for the gifts they have to share with their community. \n\n\n\nRebecca graduated from SUNY-ESF (2019) with a B.S. in Conservation Biology and a minor in Environmental Writing and Rhetoric. She is a National Geographic Certified Educator and a Field Notebook mentor for the American Birding Association’s Young Birder of the Year program. She is the creator of Nature Journaling for Ecological Re-STORY-ation and Nature Journal Writing Workshop Wednesdays.
