Great lesson! I learned a lot about adjusting values and my result was not anywhere near what yours was but I plan to do it again and add more detail. I really like your lessons.
If you were not able to get a wide range of values, the most likely reason is the paint. I used high quality paint, Payne’s Gray from Daniel Smith. Low quality watercolors do not allow you to push the darks.
