Penguins and Conservation, part 2 (video)

Join the Nature Journal Workshop for a special class on drawing penguins and a discussion with Pablo Barcia Borboroglu of the Global Penguin Society about penguin conservation and stewardship. Learn advanced tricks to help you draw penguins in perspective, proportions, and patterns for different species of penguins, and learn how you can get involved in protecting penguins across the earth. The tricks and techniques in this month’s class will build on those from the first penguin workshop.

Special Guests

Pablo (Popi) Garcia Borboroglu is the founder and President of the Global Penguin Society (GPS, www.globalpenguinsociety.org), an international science-based conservation coalition dedicated to the survival and protection of the world´s penguin species. He is the Founder-President of the Global Penguin Society (GPS), Researcher at the Nat. Research Council in Argentina and Associate Professor at the University of Washington. He has spent 30 years in the field of marine conservation focusing on protected areas and seabird ecology. His research focuses on different ecological aspects of seabirds relevant for conservation, with special emphasis on penguins. 

Marcia Sivek is the host for a popular conservation podcast called BeProvided Conservation Radio. On her show she speaks to conservationists, artists, authors and students from the Santa Cruz Mountains to remote areas of Africa.  They share stories of wildlife and the natural world they are working hard to protect.
