These three Prismacolor colored pencils are an essential part of my nature journaling kit and they are great tools for accents in my drawings. The White is like having light in a pencil–it enables me to easily add highlights and texture on watercolor and other drawings. The Black Grape is the ultimate shadow pencil–I use it for adding shadows and volume in most of the subjects that I draw (for watercolors and pencil drawings), and it blends well with most colors, except yellow and other light value colors, which is when I reach for the Greyed Lavender. It is a lighter shade of purple-grey that works well for mixing shadows into yellow or white subjects. I use these three in conjunction with my custom colored pencil set.
