Nature Journaling Curriculum
You can download my new book How to Teach Nature Journaling and the second edition of my nature journaling curriculum, Opening the World Through Nature Journaling for free from my store. The curriculum includes more great child-tested sketching activities, poetry writing, and more detailed tips on teaching drawing in nature. These are great resources for teachers, outdoor leaders, and home-school parents. The journaling lesson plans from the BEETLES team of the Lawrence Hall of Science are also available as a free download. You can also visit the Wild Wonder Foundation’s TEACH section, which includes many other resources and support.
The Nature Journal Connection (video series)
The Nature Journal Connection is a series of 40 short (10-15 min) online lessons that will build essential journaling skills. If you are looking for a good way to start, this is it. Watch a video and then head out into the field to try the new technique. The next time you go out, watch the next one. These are high percentage bite-size lessons. Weekly Live Nature Journaling Educator Forum (NJEF)
Need some help with your class or curriculum? Grab your lunch and join me every Wednesday at noon (12:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time) for a one-hour online discussion with educators around the world. Each week we tackle a different topic and can respond to issues or questions from participants. See the calendar for details and links to join any of the meetings. Wild Wonder Nature Journal Educator Training and Certificate
I worked with the Wild Wonder Foundation team to create a comprehensive Nature Journaling Educators Program, including a Nature Journaling Educators Certificate. This hybrid program provides a supportive, nurturing community where you can gain the confidence, skills, and mentoring you need to share your love of nature journaling with others. Join me and other nature journaling educators from around the world for an online workshop for educators. You will come away from this workshop empowered with best practices and practical tools for teaching nature journaling, and you will be prepared to put them into practice with your students. Wild Wonder Nature Journaling Conference
Join us for our annual gathering of the global nature journaling community, hosted in partnership with The Foster Museum. The 5-day online event, open to everyone from around the world, includes a full schedule of classes, lectures, nature journaling challenges, and inspiration. There is also a video pass available that gives you access to all of the recordings for several months afterward. Learn more.
