Reflections and other tricky things about water (Tiburon)

February 13, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am PST

Why is water so hard to paint? How do you sketch something that’s always moving? Why can you see the bottom of the lake in one spot, but the reflected sky right next to it? We’ll talk a little about the science, look at solutions different artists have used, develop some strategies for analyzing what we’re seeing and do some simple exercises. Bring your usual sketching kit and paper to take notes. Watercolor is useful but not essential.

Laurie Wigham is a painter in San Francisco. She organizes the SF Sketchers meetup group and teaches sometimes. Her previous classes for the Nature Journal Club were “Splash & Scribble” and  “Making your Nature Journal Sketches Come Alive”. You can see her work on FacebookFlickr and Instagram

All ages and experience levels are welcome.  No registration necessary,

$20 suggested donation.
