Sketching Skulls & Bones (Oakland)

November 14, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm PST

At once creepy and fascinating, the wonderful world of skulls and skeletons lies just below the surface of the living world. With the Halloween spirit still haunting us, and the dark winter nights setting in, now’s the time to face our fears and seek out new insights from the realm of bony relics!

In this hands-on workshop we’ll investigate the secrets of mammal and bird skeletal anatomy, share tips on finding good reference materials, discuss the visual qualities of bone materials, and learn some techniques for sketching skulls and skeletons quickly and accurately. Whether you’re seeking deeper insight into the mysteries of nature, or just interested in the artistry of these striking and intriguing objects, we hope you’ll join us for some seasonal skele-lebration.

Please bring a journal or sketchbook, and your drawing tools of choice. All ages and experience levels welcome. No registration or sign up necessary. $20 suggested donation.
