Drawing Trees in Pen and Ink-Tiburon
January 12, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am PST
Learn how to draw broadleaf and evergreen trees both from a distance and up close details (leaves, acorns, seed pods, and fruit). In addition to studying details of structure, we will explore shortcuts to help you get the form on paper and tricks to suggest dimension and volume.
Two advantages of drawing in ink are that it reproduces clearly for low cost printing and that it does not smudge and smear in your notebook.
We will apply our new tree drawing expertise in the field trip at the end of this month to Lake Merrit where we will draw trees for an upcoming educational brochure being produced for Oakland Parks and Recreation. This pro bono work is one way we can help conservation education with our art.
I plan to come to the one on Lake Merritt. What kind of supplies should we bring? Do we need to sign up?

Always bring a sketchbook and pencil. for this one, a selection of pens you find aournd your house might be good. No need to buy a special pen.
